Winds wreak havoc on day three of the Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre

Strong winds overnight have wreaked havoc on the final day of the Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre.

The Abbey Gardens is currently closed after a number of stalls were destroyed during the night.

St Edmundsbury Borough Council will review the situation in about an hour to see if it is possible to reopen.

The Farmers’ Market in the Buttermarket has experienced some delays this morning.

It is currently being set up and is likely to open at around 11am.

The Rushbrooke Road park and ride service is closed due to wet and muddy conditions but motorists are being directed to parking at Olding Road.

Activities on Angel Hill, Charter Square and Hatter Street will go ahead as planned.
