Weather warnings for classic Bank Holiday weekend

IF you are planning a day out over the Bank Holiday weekend, choose Sunday.

The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ weather warning for the whole of England for all of Saturday.

It warns: “Spells of heavy rain and thundery showers have the potential to cause disruption during Saturday. The public should be aware of the risk of surface water flooding.”

If you are heading for the ‘southern counties’, you can also expect gales.

But in East Anglia the rain is expected to ease off early on Sunday morning. By the time the Bury St Edmunds Food Festival kicks off at 10am it should be cloudy with sunny spells and the breeze will die down in the afternoon with temperatures reaching about 19C.

But the rain is expected to return to Suffolk on Monday afternoon.
