Twisted Piglet are rising stars
NORWICH-based electro indie rock group Twisted Piglet have hit the big time in 2012 - and are joining Guns and Roses, New Order and Duran Duran onstage in Serbia this week.
The band, who won the BurySound music competition in 2010, have recently supported the Hoosiers and Scouting for Girls at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness and have also played alongside ‘From the Jam’ featuring The Jam’s Bruce Foxton at the Waterfront in Norwich.
This week Twisted Piglet - singer and guitarist Brodie Payne, 17, his brother Stacey Payne, 18, on keyboards, both from Winfarthing, and drummer Paul Reeder, 21, from Roydon - are travelling to Serbia to play at the Exit Festival.
Brodie said: “We haven’t had much of a break in 2012.
“We are currently in the midst of doing a video shoot and have planned a release date for around the middle of October.
“We also fly out on Wednesday to play a festival in Serbia with people like Guns and Roses, Plan B and New Order. It is going to be pretty crazy.
“At the end of September we are going to Spain to finish the last of the album off and will hope to release it around October time.
“People have been waiting for this, we have released little EPs but this will be a full ten track album.”
Brodie said he was excited about playing alongside some of the biggest names in music at Exit Festival.
He said: “Even though we probably won’t meet any of the stars, to have our name on the same line-up as them and to be able to say we have played with these people will be a great experience.
“You can’t really put into words how it feels to be playing alongside people like that - it is such an honour to play with them.
“We are just really excited about it - we just want to get on that flight and get to Serbia.”
