A BURY St Edmunds market trader has competed for at least half a million pounds on TV game show Red or Black?.

Graeme Barham, who owns Suttons View Nursery and has a stall on Bury St Edmunds market, will appear on the game show hosted by Ant and Dec on September 29.

He said: “I had never seen it before but it seemed like a good laugh with Ant and Dec presenting, so I thought I would go for it. It was an amazing experience.”

Contestants on the show bet on the outcome of scenarios by picking either red or black.

The last contestant remaining then faces ‘the vortex’ to try to win the cash prize.

Although Graeme is unable to reveal whether fortune favoured him on the night, he said that the experience was great fun and he met some fantastic people.

Graeme caught the game show bug after appearing on The Weakest Link last year although he insists that it really isn’t about the money.

He said: “I was there for the fun of it, I was not there to win the money.”

Graeme is hoping to go on more game shows, singling out The Cube and The Million Pound Drop as two he has his eye on.
