Torch relay grants on offer

BRECKLAND Council is looking for communities to blaze an Olympic trail around the district this summer.

The council is launching a Celebratory Grant Scheme to give groups £500 towards their own London 2012-inspired events.

A Torch Relay will make its way around the district and groups on the route can apply for the funding.

The torch will begin its journey in Watton on June 24. It will arrive in Thetford on July 1.

Deadline for applications is February 17, with decisions due by February 27.
