A CHARITY event which aims to get children involved is to take place on Moreton Hall in September.

Little Legs, which launched in Bury St Edmunds last year, encourages youngsters aged 12 and under to take part in a sponsored walk or run to raise money for Cancer Research UK, with fun activities put on for all the family.

Organiser Catherine Sheppard said: “It’s also a chance for people who have been going through a hard and difficult time to come and have a day off and enjoy it with other people going through the same thing.”

Her friend Cloe Gibney, who helped to organise the last event which raised more than £6,000, has since lost her battle with the disease.

Cloe’s sister-in-law, Rachel Gibney, said of her son’s involvement:“Ethan’s eight so he’s aware of everything that Cloe went through and he just wants to do something to help people like her.”

Little Legs will take place on September 1 at Moreton Hall Community Centre.

Registration costs £5.
