The Apex opens for business

Music lovers can start to fill up their calendar from Monday when a new venue's box office opens for business.

The Apex, Bury St Edmunds' long-awaited music venue in the arc shopping centre, will begin selling tickets for its autumn and winter season from the start of next week.

BurySOUND kicks off proceedings on October 8, the first event of the Sound Check Season, a period where the venue will test out the capabilities of the new space.

The varied line-up then takes in everything from jazz and blues to classical music. Bury's Fat Cat Comedy Club will also be taking up residency at the apex.

Among the artists set to appear are Steve Harley, folk singer Kate Rusby, a capella group The Magnets and the City of London Sinfonia.

Initially, the box office will only be available on line and by phone.

To book tickets go to www.theapex.co.uk or call 01284 758000 from 10am-5pm on Monday to Friday and on event days.
