The hunt for Suffolk’s best bakers

The hunt for Suffolk’s best baker is one step closer after a hard fought Bury St Edmunds heat of the Great Suffolk Bake Off.

An array of delicious cakes, quiches, pies and breads filled the judge’s table at Abbeycroft Leisure centre today.

And one very happy family got a big slice of success with Susannah Gimson, from Kennyhill, winning gold for her Suffolk Breakfast Quiche and her daughters Chloe, 14, and Emma, eight, winning in the under 16s category with their delicious Suffolk Twist Focaccia and Suffolk Honey Cupcakes.

There was also success for our very own Emma Lake as she won in the sweet category with her amazing Suffolk Streusel Cake.
