Suffolk Police warn of book of remembrance scam

Suffolk Police are warning businesses to be aware of a scam currently operating in the county.

Police have been informed that business owners have been telephoned by an individual claiming to be from Suffolk Police Federation.

They are then asked for donations towards their ‘Book of Remembrance’. Once this is declined and the caller is challenged, they hang up.

Suffolk Police Federation says it does not publish a book of this kind, so anyone purporting to be calling for this purpose is not genuine.

If you believe you have been the victim of a scam or fraud, contact Suffolk Police on 101.
