What do you do in and Emergency? How do you make a 999 call? How do you place someone in the recovery position?

These are some of the skills school children from across Forest Heath have been learning from the Crucial Crew team, at Mildenhall Stadium, this week.

During Crucial Crew events school children are presented with interactive scenarios, representing real-life situations, in which they have to think and act to keep themselves safe.

Students learnt how to make a 999 call, basic fire safety, basic first aid, how to stay safe online, how to keep property safe and discussed issues around criminal damage and anti social behaviour.

By the end of this week approximately 400 year-six students will have attended a Crucial Crew Session.

Crucial Crew has been running for eighteen years and this year has seen an expansion in participation with fifteen schools attending events.

The events are organised by crime reduction officers Heather Highton and Jackie Norton with the help of approximately 30 volunteers each day.
