Stanton great grandmother celebrates her 100th birthday
One of her earliest memories is off a street party at the end of the First World War.
“Everybody brought out their tables, chairs, tea and cake. It was wonderful,” said Florrie Haynes who turned 100 on Monday.
She celebrated her birthday with friends and family in Stanton on Saturday.
Mrs Haynes moved to the village 26-years-ago after her husband Albert died.
She then worked for the volunter service in Bury St Edmunds, while together withfriend ‘Elsie’ Florence Hemphill, she featured on Helen McDermott’s unsung heroes programme after starting the village luncheon club.
