Specsavers makes £25,000 pledge to charity

A GROUP of opticians has pledged to collectively raise £25,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Specsavers stores in the region, including the Bury St Edmunds branch, have pledged to reach their £25,000 target within a year.

They plan to present the full amount to the charity - which provides help for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and their families - at the end of January, next year.

More than 40 Specsavers stores are backing the initiative, with each one set to carry out its own fund-raising activity throughout the year.

Each partnerships manager Mark Loades said: “We are delighted to have the support of Specsavers stores in the Anglia region and hope that the local community will support all fund-raising that each individual store participates in.

“The generous pledge will help us to continue to provide care and support to local life-threatened children and their families.”

Sarah Flowers, Specsavers regional chair, said: “We are really looking forward to promoting our involvement with the charity and fully support the outstanding work they undertake.

“Each store is looking forward to their fund-raising activities over the coming 12 months to help collectively reach the target amount, so we hope local communities support us.”
