Small to medium sized firms invited to apply for low carbon project grants

Small to medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to apply for European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) support to help them reduce energy consumption, develop new products and increase profits.

The deadline for cash from the £3.2m pot is in May.

The Low Carbon Keep programme is being managed by Anglia Ruskin University.

It has already supported 35 projects, providing £675,000 of funding.

The programme runs until December next year but because it is for projects from four to 18 months, the deadline for applications is in May.

The grant can cover up to 40 per cent of the costs of a project. and allows SMES to recoup 40 per cent of the costs of purchasing capital items such as essential equipment or software that are fundamental to the project.
