A bathroom and kitchen showroom in Bury St Edmunds is to double in size in the coming months, creating new jobs.

Neptune Design Centre, which also sells home furnishings, opened just two years ago.

But director Martin King said the Barton Road business has proven such a success that it is to expand in April.

“Times are tough and we are a relatively new company. But Neputune is building a good name for itself,” he said.

“We are the only Neptune store in East Anglia.

“We have people coming from across the whole of East Anglia to us. It is a very desirable product.”

The warehouse that takes up half the existing store site will relocate to expand the floorspace to 6,000sqft.

“We will be classed as a home store which means we will have a lot more vartiety of products,” said Mr King.

The shop employs five staff, but Mr King said that will increase as part of the expansion. It will also increase its opening times from six to seven days a week.

“We will start the refit in the first week of February to open in the first week of April and we currently have a sale on on all existing show room stock,” said Mr King.

Customers will be able to order online during the interim period at www.neptuneburystedmunds.com or email info@neptuneburystedmunds.com
