THE Mid and West Suffolk Show is back with a bang this weekend with a packed programme of fun and thrills.

Headlining the weekend’s entertainment at Stonham Barns, near Stowmarket, is East Coast FMX, a breathtaking motorbike stunt team, and the Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club, who are demonstrating the awesome power of their vehicles on the showground’s purpose-built 4X4 track.

The show, which has had a two-year gap as new owners Starglade Leisure took control of the site, takes place tomorrow and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

The exciting line-up of attractions also includes the Rede Hall Suffolk Punches, East Anglian Fire and Rescue, a host of classic cars and steam machines, stalls, refreshments and birds of prey demonstrations by Suffolk Owl Sanctuary.

Events organiser Gary Newman said the show placed a heavy emphasis on local goods and entertainment.

He said: “The whole idea is to have food and drink sourced locally and of the best quality we can get.

“We want to have ice cream straight from the cow to the cone.

“One of the highlights of the show without a doubt is the East Coast FMX motorbike display team who travel all over the UK and Europe with their stunning show.

“As well as that, we have a show ring with all the traditional county show attractions.

“We have Suffolk Punches, dog shows and lots of classic and steam-powered vehicles.

“This is the first show we wholly control, own and are presenting.

“It is the real focal event of the year.

“Everything is looking great, even with the recent bad weather the site is looking in very good shape.

“The weather looks like it should be good, too.”
