Shadows bring China to life for school

Chinese shadow puppets proved to be a fun way of learning for pupils at St Edmundsbury Primary School.

Ket stag eone pupils there have been learning about China so puppeteer Sarah Pooley took along her shadow puppets to perform the Chinese version of Cinderella then showed each class how to make their own.

The school’s key stage one coordinator Lyndsey Allsopp said: “The classroom was full of different fabrics and the white board was on, because that cast shadows. The children were testing different materials to see which ones make shadows.”
