A village school plans to make a splash in the community with a £60,000 revamp of a swimming pool - in a wave of ongoing building projects.

Hopton Primary is to transform its disused open air pool into an indoor facility to be used by the community.

Head Marc Careless said they are aiming to have the pool ready for use by the autumn term after securing various grants and holding fund-raising events.

It is one of several building projects at the school, in Thelnetham Road, following the completion of a covered outdoor learning area for pupils aged four and five. Work has also started on a new classroom to teach Year Five and Six children in the switch to two tier education.

Meanwhile, the school is to transform a wooded area at the back of its grounds into an outdooor classroom for science and
geography work. Pictured above are pupils Keira Burnat, Tyler Rose, Finley Holloway and Megan Clements.
