School news in brief
More-able pupils at Westley Middle were given the chance to create animal sculptures with the help of a local artist.
They were asked to sketch an animal they would like to sculpt before a visit by sculpturist Jenny Goater.
She brought in some work, spoke about her life as a practising artist and shared her skills with the pupils.
Their work will be displayed in an exhibition at the Apex next month.
Meanwhile, pupils in Year 8 enjoyed a visit by a member of the Poetry Trust, who helped them design a workshop to deliver to Year 5.
The school is exploring the possibility of pupils delivering the workshop at Barrow Primary.
Music students at King Edward VI School showcased their skills to neighbouring pupils at St Edmundsbury Primary.
They took in musical instruments and demonstrated how to play them.
