Risk of snow returning to East Anglia at weekend

A warning of snow returning to East Anglia on Saturday has been issued by the Met Office.

It says ‘disruptive’ snow will start falling in the north west tomorrow and will spread south and east. Though its forecasters are not yet sure how far it will spread south, the warning valid for 12 hours from just after midnight on Saturday morning for the whole of East Anglia.

It says: “Further significant snow accumulations are likely on hills, with continued drifting and blizzard conditions in the strong southeasterly winds. At lower levels, some areas could see 5-10 cm of snow, though details on locations most at risk remains very uncertain at this stage.
