Red Lodge skate park site abandoned

The favoured site of a new skate park in Red Lodge has been abandoned due to concerns about its proximity to residential housing.

The site, on a field adjacent to the village’s Sports Pavilion, is approximately 75 meters from housing.

It was decided to be the most favourable location for a skate park at a public meeting in November.

However Red Lodge Parish Council has voted to abandon the site after receiving information about noise complaints in similar circumstances.

The parish council said the decision was ‘regretable’.

An alternative site, further from housing on the other side of the field, had been proposed but was initially decided to be less favourable.

The parish council will now discuss the possibility of pursuing this site at a future meeting.
