Radio station ‘touched by generosity’ of community

More than £15,000 worth of toys were donated by the people of Forest Heath to local radio station Zack fm’s Santa Express Campaign.

Zack fm placed drop off boxes in local businesses as well as RAF Lakenheath, for people to donate toys for children spending the festive season in hospitals, hospices and social service care.

On Christmas Eve Station director Jeff Davis accompanied his colleagues to both Addenbrooke’s hospital and West Suffolk Hospital as well as Forest Heath Social Services to drop off the presents.

Due to the high level of donations Zack fm were also able to give £1,000 worth of toys to East Anglia Children’s Hospice.

Jeff Davis said: “The radio station is just the vehicle to get the message out there but it’s you, the listeners, that really made a difference in these children’s hearts this year. It is the true meaning of Christmas.”
