Race for Life is called off
Race for Life in Thetford will not take place this year because of a decline in participation, according to Cancer Research UK.
A spokeswoman said plans to hold a race in Thetford next year were open to review, but the event – held in Thetford Forest since 2006 – would not go ahead because entry numbers had declined.
"To make Cancer Research UK events as efficient as possible, and to give Race for Life participants the best experience on the day, the decision has been made to merge Thetford Race for Life into the Bury St Edmunds event," she said.
"We hope that the women of Thetford will join together with the women of Bury and make a huge contribution to helping Cancer Research UK beat cancer."
The Bury races are at Nowton Park, on June 22, at 11am and 2.30pm.
