Posh to hold trials for any promising youngsters

Npower Championship club Peterborough United will be holding trials for young footballers in and around the Thurston area.

Thurston Sports Education Centre has been chosen by the Cambridgeshire-based club as its new development centre.

The programme used by Posh will run over 10-week blocks, four times a year and follow the same syllabus used by their very own centre of excellence.

“The aim of the centre is to get the players playing at the highest level possible, and if they develop to the required standard we will look to progress them through our system and into our centre of excellence,” said Jason Curtis, player development manager for Suffolk.

Trials will take place at Thurston Sports Education Centre at Norton Road, on Tuesday, February 19, at 10am-11.15am for school Years 2, 3 and 4; 11.45am-1pm for Years 5, 6 and 7; and 1.30pm to 2.45pm for Years 8, 9 and 10.
