Police name driver in fatal collision

Police have named the man who died in a road traffic collision on the A11 as Kenneth Hobbins.

Mr Hobbins, 81, of Stratton Strawless, Norfolk, died at the scene after his black Mercedes estate car was involved in a collision with a white DAF truck.

Police, fire and ambulance were called to the two-vehicle road traffic collision at approximately 2.10pm on Wednesday.

The driver of the car was released from the vehicle by the fire service and seen to by paramedics, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the lorry was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was travelling along the A11 and saw the black Mercedes estate car prior to or when the collision happened.
