E-Fit released on burglar who broke into home in Abbot Road, Bury St Edmunds

Police have released an E-Fit image of a man who tried to burgle a house in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A man aged between 17 and 21 was discovered by the occupier who was woken by a noise in the downnstairs bathroom.

This was around 3.15am at an address in Abbot Road, Bury St Edmunds.

The victim had gone downstairs to investigate and found lights had been turned on in the lounge and the kitchen. As she went to go into the lounge, she came face-to-face with the offender.

He immediately left through the front door and then met a second male waiting outside for him on the pavement. The pair then ran-off towards Winchester Road.

No property was stolen and police say it appeared the intruder had gained entry through a window.

Police describe the offender as a white, around 5ft 5in tall, well-built with hair which had been shaven, but had grown-out around one inch. It was light brown/blonde in colour.

He was wearing a black jacket with a hood, which had at least two stripes down each arm either white or grey in colour, light coloured trousers and white K-Swiss style shoes.

Anyone who may know this man or has informationshould contact Det Con Benjamin Clark at Bury St Edmunds CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
