Police dogs search for Post Office robbers in Bury St Edmunds

Police dog units are searching an area at Rougham Hill in Bury St Edmunds this morning after a car used in a Post Office robbery was dumped there.

A spokesman said the robbery happened at about 6.30am this morning in Laxfield.

Robbers demanded staff open a safe. They escaped with a ‘significant’ amount of money a police spokesman said.

The Volkswagen Golf was found abandoned in Bury later on.

The dog units have been brought in to try to trace the suspects.
