Police candidates are listed
Nominations for Police Commissioner candidates have closed with Suffolk fielding four and Norfolk having five.
In Suffolk UK Independence Party county councillor Bill Mountford was a last minute candidate before nominations closed at noon on Friday.
Cllr Mountford, who has represented Lowestoft South for three and a half years, stepped in after another candidate withdrew due to family illness.
He said he only started collecting the 100 signatures candidates need to enter the previous Sunday but had 75 by the end of the day and 24 hours later had 200 with people phoning asking to add their names.
“If that kind of support is repeated at the ballot box on November 15, I feel I’m in with a chance,” he said.
The other candidates in Suffolk are Labour’s Jane Basham, independent David Cocks and Conservative Tim Passmore.
The Liberal Democrats did not enter a candidate in Suffolk but in Norfolk have James Joyce from Wood Dalling.
The other candidates are Conservative Jamie Athill, independent Stephen Bett, Labour Steve Morphew and UKIP Matthew Smith. All the candidates are from north Norfolk.
