Plans for skatepark
BMX riders and skaters had their say on plans for a new park this week.
Thetford Community Association spoke to more than 20 riders and skaters as plans for the new skatepark on Croxton Road move forward.
The group was shown designs for the new park and allowed to add their own elements.
Paul Stancliffe, a youth worker, was part of a Q&A session with the group.
He said: “We wanted the Thetford skate community to be a part of it. We don’t want to build the park, and they go there and say, ‘This is rubbish’.”
An £111,000 funding package was secured by Thetford Town Council from Moving Thetford Forward to go towards the project.
