Pink Panther girls at Mildenhall College to run in the Race for Life in Bury St Edmunds

Sixteen-year-old Pippa Hilton has seen her life touched by cancer.

Eight years ago she lost her grandad during an operation to remove cancer from his bowels, while her uncle is recovering from cancer of the tongue and lymph nodes.

The youngster, a pupil at Mildenhall College of Technology is part of a team of seven girls, called the Pink Panthers, that are taking part in the Race for Life for Cancer Research UK.

The event takes place in Bury St Edmunds on June 23.

Jaimie Lane, 17, organiser of the Pink Panthers, said: “The majority of us have been affected by cancer in some way. We are hoping to raise £1,000 and currently have just over £422.
