Pair deny charges

TWO men have denied being involved in the supply of cocaine following Suffolk’s largest ever seizure of the Class A drug.

On Friday, Terrance Smith, 56, of Ethelreda Drive, Brandon, and Frederick Colverson, 56, of Galsworthy Avenue, London, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court.

Both men pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to supply a controlled class A drug.

The charges follow the seizure by police of cocaine with an estimated street value of of between £30 and £40 million at a business unit in Highbury Road, Brandon on November 1 last year.

Smith, a company director, and Colverson, unemployed, were told by Judge Goodin that they would continue to be remanded in custody until their trial.
