Pair threatened arc guard

A COUPLE who intimidated a security officer at the arc have been given supervision orders for one year.

Teresa Hensleigh, 38, and Ian Charles Treagus, 44, both of Ashwell Road, Bury St Edmunds, pleaded guilty to using threatening words or behaviour to cause fear of violence at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

On August 21 a security officer working in the Bury St Edmunds shopping centre reported a woman becoming abusive and threatening, apparently for no reason, the court heard.

Treagus joined the dispute and also threatened the security officer.

Claire Lockwood, in mitigation, told the court that Hensleigh had believed the guard was staring at her and that the pair had sought to apologise for their actions later the same day.
