Painting by Indian numbers
Thetford school pupils have experienced the harsh realities of working in a sweatshop as well as taking part in Indian painting and Brazilian martial art workshops.
On Tuesday, pupils at Thetford Grammar School in Bridge Street took part in a multicultural day to learn about how other cultures live, work and play.
The event was organised by Amanda Sherring, head of art at the school, who said: "We had a number of sessions, including a sweatshop, where pupils had to make t-shirts, try to sell them and pay their rent, and they really enjoyed it as well as understanding there was a serious message behind it.
"This is an annual event and allows pupils to experience a host of different activities."
The African drumming, dancing and singing workshop was run by Taku, local vicar Canon Bob Baker held a session all about senses, Michael Hill, the school's sports teacher, ran the Capoeira classes and Lucy Perry held the Indian painting sessions.
