New minister for church
STOWMARKET United Reformed Church is looking forward to welcoming its first full time minister for three years.
The Rev Chris Wood will be inducted into the church at a ceremony on September 30. Mr Wood leaves Clacton United Reformed Church after 13 years to take on the pastorate at Stowmarket, along with the village chapels of Haughley, Mendlesham and Stowupland.
He will also become minister of Debenham United Reformed Church.
The Stowmarket church, in Ipswich Street, is expected to be full for the 4pm induction service which will be followed by afternoon tea.
The public are invited to join the church and civic dignitories who will be taking part which follows a Harvest Festival at 10.30am.
