PORTUGUESE peri-peri chicken chain, Nando’s, has opened a brand new restaurant in Bury St Edmunds.

The restaurant, which opened on Wednesday in the Arc shopping centre, can seat more than 100 hungry people.

The new Nando’s brings 25 new jobs to the local area including managers, grillers and cashiers.

Darren Sones, Managing Director of Nando’s Central Region said: “It’s no lie that we’ve been looking to open a restaurant in Bury St. Edmunds for a while, and we’re absolutely thrilled to have opened our doors to the public today.

“The whole team are really excited about the new restaurant, and we hope to offer shoppers and locals a great dining experience and a meal to remember.”

Arc Centre Manager Colin Roberts said the restaurant was a welcomed addition to the centre.

He said: “The fit out they have done on the restaurant is absolutely exceptional.

“It looks and feels brilliant and the staff are just wonderful.

“It was busy throughout its opening day and we have had a lot of positive feedback about it.

“It is a great addition to Bury St Edmunds and the Arc and compliments our other restaurants nicely. It fits in so well in fact it looks like the restaurant has been there forever.”
