More than 8,300 are blades binned
Knives are picked up to be shredded as part of Suffolk Police's Bin a Blade campaign
Suffolk Police’s Bin a Blade campaign has netted 8,330 in two years.
After 6,125 bins were dumped in four static and two mobile bins in 2011, the static ones were kept in Mildenhall, Bury , Ipswich and Lowestoft and a further 2,205 blades were binned in 2012.
Chief Constable Simon Ash said: “Our amnesty is continuing to make people think about the consequences of carrying a knife.”
