More rain on the way for the East

Flooding at Great Finborough

Flooding at Great Finborough

The Met Office has issued a ‘be aware’ weather warning for heavy rain in the East of England on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

The east will be spared the worst of the rain spreading from the west, but the Met Office warned: “Given existing levels of saturation, the public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding.”

In addition the winds will strengthen across the country on Sunday morning. Though the Met Office is predicting gusts of up to 60mph in the south and west, it is forecasting speeds of around 25mph in the East.
