Mildenhall Post Office closes for refurbishment
A Mildenhall Post Office will close tomorrow to be modernised and upgraded.
The St John’s Close branch will be changed to a new ‘local’ style open Post Office and convenience store.
Post Office regional network manager for South and East England, Mark Lawrence, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Mildenhall and we are confident that the Post Office local service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
The new ‘local’ style branch will offer Post Office services alongside retail transactions, during shop opening hours.
Customers will be able to carry out a wide range of Post Office services including automated banking, bill and budget payment schemes, postal orders and postage.
The changes will see opening hours extended by 70 hours a week, with access to post office services provided seven days a week.
The new opening hours will be Monday to Saturday: 6am to 10pm daily. Sunday: 7am to 10pm.
The updated branch will reopen at 9am on Friday.
