The mayor of St Edmundsbury was the guest of honour for lunch at Horringer Court Middle as part of a school meal celebration.

Cllr Tim Marks tucked into a lunch of spicy bean stew with vegetables followed by toffee apple strudel in the company of the Bury St Edmunds school’s head boy and girl and house captains.

He later enjoyed a tour of the school and saw their new cookery room, classroom, office and art room, which is also a dance studio.

The visit was part of a celebration week by Eats - the Suffolk County Council company which provides school meals.
