Daffy has visited the Bury St Edmunds cadets to help launch Marie Curie’s annual daffodil appeal.

Cadets all over Suffolk give up their time to support Marie Curie’s Daffodil Appeal every year and raise much needed money to support the local nursing service, which is free to patients.

Daffodil pins will go on sale in exchange for a charity donation. Marie Curie hope to raise £7 million through the month long appeal.

Community Fundraiser Angela Bussey said “Every £20 raised enables an hour of free nursing service to patients with cancer and other terminal illnesses.” Volunteers will be collecting in the town centre on Wednesday (6) and next Saturday (9).

If you would like to help fundraise for the Daffodil Appeal, please contact the office on 01284 747385 or email: angela.bussey@mariecurie.org.uk

Marie Curie Cancer Care is one of the UK’s largest charities. It employs more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals.

It provided care to more than 35,000 terminally ill patients in the community and in its nine hospices last year.

It is also the largest provider of hospice beds outside of the NHS.
