Man who died after 40ft fall in Bury St Edmunds is named

A man who died after falling 40ft from a walkway at an industrial unit in Bury St Edmunds has been named.

He was Paul Ebbens, 57, of Church Row, Bury.

Emergency services were called to Pauls Malt in Eastern Way shortly after 9.15am on Wednesday. Mr Ebbens was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police together with the Health and Safety Executive are leading an inquiry into the incident which is being treated as an industrial accident.

An inquest into his death is due to open and adjourn this lunchtime.
