Man ‘slashed’ multiple times in knife attack

A 22-year-man is being treated in hospital after he was ‘slashed’ with a knife multiple times in Stowmarket last night.

Police were called to an incident near Windermere Road at around 8.20pm where the alleged victim was discovered with knife wounds to his torso and chest.

A 22-year-old man from the Stowmarket area was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and is currently being questioned at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.

The victim is currently being treated at Ipswich Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a stabbing at 8.21pm.

“The victim was a male, about 20-years-old with slash rather than stab wounds to his left side and just below his chest.

“They were luckily only minor injuries and he was taken via land ambulance to Ipswich Hospital.”
