Man left rubbish on roadside
A MILDENHALL man has been ordered to pay £606.86 compensation after he dumped six bin bags of household waste.
Luke White-Millar, 18, of Miles Hawk way, Mildenhall, pleaded guilty to the offence of fly-tipping at Isleham Road, Worlington, at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court last week.
Prosecuting on behalf of Forest Heath District Council, Paul Weller, told the court that on February 2 Forest Heath District Council officers discovered six black bin bags of household waste at Isleham Road.
Speaking in his defence, White-Millar told the court that upon finding a house-hold waste centre closed he had decided to dump the bin bags rather than take them back to his sister’s house.
Magistrate Philip Turner, said: “We accept you have come into court and apologised and pleaded guilty but the fly-tipping of waste particularly in this countryside is an absolute disgrace.”
As well as being told to pay £606.86 to Forest Heath District Council, White-Millar was fined £200 and told to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
