A TWENTY-nine-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear, following an armed siege in Bury St Edmunds this afternoon.

Armed police surrounded a property in Oakes Road this afternoon.

It happened after police received reports at around 1.30pm from a member of the public who said they had seen a man driving around with what appeared to be a gun.

Police gained entry to a house and arrested a man. He is not been charged at this stage.
