Lorry driver robbed on road
A lorry driver was left ‘shaken but unhurt’ after three robbers flagged him down and snatched his cargo of cigarettes.
The driver, in his 20s, was stopped by the offenders as he drove in Northwold Road, near Methwold, at around 6.15am on Monday.
The trio flagged down the driver’s articulated lorry from the side of the road, before smashing the passenger side window of his cab.
They made off in a white Transit van.
The robbers were described as wearing high visibility tops, with two of them wearing hooded tops, the other wearing a hat and all three wore builder’s gloves.
Police are now looking for witnesses who may have seen the white Transit van parked up near a 40mph speed limit sign on Stoke Road, Weeting, at around 6am.
Dc Richard Moden, from King’s Lynn CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances, but we are very keen to speak to any witnesses.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
