Launch of group for older people
A GROUP which seeks to give older people in Suffolk a collective and bolder voice was launched on Monday.
County, district and borough councils joined NHS organisations, the police and Police Authority in recommitting to the Suffolk Older People’s Charter by signing it again at the launch of the Suffolk Older People’s Council this week.
The council, which grew out of the Suffolk Older People’s Partnership Board, has been supported in its development by Age UK Suffolk.
It values older people having the right to independence, choice and control over their lives and aims to champion the needs of older people who have difficulty in speaking up for themselves and to provide a platform where their concerns can be raised.
