Strada Fire - View from above
BURY Free Press photographer Mecha Morton took this shot of the fire-ravaged Cupola House today from Suffolk Fire Service’s new MultiStar engine which was used to deal with the blaze.
The picture shows the extent of the damage to the historic town centre building after fire swept through the five storey Grade One listed structure on Saturday night.
The picture shows the roof and observatory has gone and the front wall is bowing out showing the extent of the damage to the iconic building owned and run as a restaurant by Strada.
The structure has been ruled as unsafe and authorities are considering having to demolish the front section. See Friday’s paper for more pictures and full story about the impact of the fire.
