Knife-wielding mugger attacks man on Howard estate

A knife-wielding robber has mugged a man on the Howard estate, in Bury St Edmunds.

The incident took place late last night at around 10.15pm as the man walked near to the Newbury Community Centre, in St Olaves Road.

A man approached him and asked for change, but when he refused, the attacker took out a knife and demanded the victim empty his pockets.

The robber took his cash and then assaulted him before running off.

The victim suffered facial injuries.

The robber is described as white, around 25 years old, 6ft tall, of stocky build with very short brown hair.

He spoke with an East London accent and had a brown pit bull or Staffordshire bull terrier with him.
