A TRIO of teenage kickboxers from a club in Bury St Edmunds are preparing for the World championships in Paris in November, by taking part in a sponsored bike ride.

Brothers Leon and Lloyd Dunnett from Walsham-le-Willows and Abigail Reid, 16, from Barningham, train with Combat Kickboxing Academy at Bury Leisure Centre, need to raise the £1,600 for their travel and accommodation.

They are holding a sponsored static 20-mile bike ride at Bury Leisure Centre on August 31.

Abigail won silver at the last World championships in
2008.

Leon, 14, and Lloyd, 16, are both twice England, and three times British champions, while their dad Peter runs the academy. Leon won bronze at the 2008 World championships while Lloyd missed out due to injury.

“I enjoy the challenge and cannot wait to put my training to the test on the World stage,” said Lloyd.
