Karen has her haircut on the One Show

Recycling guru and BFP columnist Karen Cannard was on BBC’s One Show having her haircut by its interviewing hairdresser Michael Douglas on a landfill site to highlight how much waste is buried.

Karen had not told her family she was doing it so it was a surprised when she appeared on screen.

She met Michael at a conference in 2011 and suggested doing a cut on a landfill site, but he had already done one at a recycling centre so he thought the producers would not do it.

Karen said: “It would have been an eye catching way of promoting the issues of landfill and the importance of recycling more.”

She then forgot about it until an email arrived saying they wanted to do it. It was filmed at Great Blakenham.
