Jewellery taken in street theft
A HUNT for witnesses has been launched after thieves snatched jewellery from a couple in their 70s.
The incident took place in Aldi car park, off Norwich Road, in Thetford, on May 29 between 5.30pm and 5.40pm.
The couple were approached by a male and female in the car park, before the man was distracted by being given gold-looking chains and rings. The male claimed the jewellery was a gift for the couple.
The pair then made off in separate directions.
It was then that the man realised a chain had been stolen from around his neck.
The male is described as Asian, aged 30 to 40-years-old, of medium build, 5ft 8ins tall, with black curly hair to the neckline, wearing a red jumper with black markings and a beige coloured jacket over the top.
His female accomplice was also Asian, aged between 30 and 40-years-old, of medium build, between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 6ins tall, with black shoulder length hair and a black top with beads around the neckline.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Pc Stephanie Cochrane at Thetford Police on 101.
